Not Intimidated by Debate

Zionist Council of Victoria (ZFA) debate on the Settlements and the Peace Process
“NOT INTIMIDATED BY DEBATE”
As 2009 draws to a close the ZCV presented 2 events this week about open and honest dialogue, whether between people of a different faith or differing politics.
Last night, the ZCV’s Settlement Debate attracted more than 100 community members, a cross section of ages and affiliations, who were both informed and entertained by the topic, “That Israeli settlements are not an impediment to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process”.
Both teams debated hard, but in the end as insightfully adjudicated by Tim Jeffries of the Monash Association of Debaters, it was the Affirmative team who won more points on rebuttal and generally presented a more comprehensive argument.
With thanks to all our debaters – for the Affirmative: Sam Tatarka, Adam Goodvach and Nadav Prawer, and the Negative: Johnny Baker, Elon Gersh and
ZCV President Dr Danny Lamm commented in summing up the evening that despite being on different sides of the fence, “…all six debaters are people clearly totally committed to the State of Israel and to intellectual debate”.
“The Zionist Council is not intimidated by debate.” he said.
