Herman, Simon (Prof)

Simon Herman was an associate professor at the Institute of Contemporary Jewry and in the department of psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After completing his studies in social psychology in South Africa, Professor Herman came to the U.S.A., where he worked under the late Professor Kurt Lewin, founder of the Research Center for Group Dynamics (then at M.I.T.).

In Israel, the focus of his research has been on problems of ethnic identity, cross- cultural education and sociolinguistics. His papers on these subject have appeared in a number of scholarly journals, and he is the author of the book "American Students in Israel."

He passed away several years ago.
